Madeline Wrap Up Party

Today we had our Madeline wrap up party. This has been a great book and one that we will probably row again in the future. We started the day by talking about symmetry. This was a much easier concept for her to grasp than I thought it would be. We flipped through the book and she would tell me which pictures we symmetrical and asymmetrical. We also did a craft in which we folded a piece of paper in half and then made drops of paint on one side of the paper and then folded the paper in half. We really smashed and rubbed the paper together and then we opened it back up to see that both sides were now symmetrical.

Reagan is a picky eater so we had to be creative with our "French food" for our wrap up. We decided to made "French" bread pizza and I made a cake that looked like Madeline's hat. The cake didn't turn out perfect, but she liked it.

  1. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I am so thankful that my children love all my creations... even my sloppiest! For my daughter's b-day recently I made her Panda cupcakes and they were not quite the way they were "supposed to be". She was delighted! You can take a peek at them on my blog under Labels: Birthdays, if you want.
